Mac­cabi get their man

FOOT­BALL OR­LANDO Sa is con­fi­dent he can help Mac­cabi Tel Aviv con­tinue to dom­i­nate Is­raeli foot­ball af­ter sign­ing on a three-and-a -half year deal.

The Por­tuguese striker, who has one in­ter­na­tional cap, made 21 ap­pear­ances for Read­ing af­ter join­ing from Le­gia War­saw last year.

Sa said: “I’ve heard a lot about the at­mo­sphere­ath­ome­match­esand­hope to­help­mynewteam­mateswinas­many ti­tles as pos­si­ble.”

Mac­cabi’s di­rec­tor Jordi Cruyff said: “He is a strong player with pres­ence and we be­lieve he will be an as­set.”

Mean­while, Uefa have asked for clarifications about im­prove­ments to the pitch at Sami Ofer sta­dium in Haifa fol­low­ing a com­plaint by Chelsea.
