Alyth gets arty with first festival
MUSICIANS, SINGERS, authors and artists will be dropping into Alyth Reform next week for the Golders Green synagogue’s first arts festival.
Highlights include recitals from cellist Raphael Lang and pianist Robyn Koh and an author’s talk by literary editor Gerald Jacobs about his new novel A craft fair, salsa lessons and a V&A private archive tour are among other attractions.
Alyth Arts Week has been organised by Vivienne Bellos, the synagogue’s former musical director. She said she had been inspired by the annual proms at St Jude’s, a nearby church.
“Both our congregation and the local community love culture so we are celebrating this with a packed week of activities.”
