Nobody ever claimed that fashion should be practical and this latest cuff direction is anything but. Think oversized and OTT sleeves and you’ll be bang on trend. Whether you go for bell (as in bell shaped), bishop (widens from the lower arm and gathers at the cuff), batwing (gives the appearance of underarm wings) or balloon (puffed out and wide) — if it starts with a ‘b’ and it’s extra long in length you’re onto a winning look. Ruffle sleeves are also making a comeback. Choose from layers of ruffles that completely cover the sleeve or begin at the elbow or cuff. Off the shoulder sleeves and coldshoulder designs continue to reign for the season ahead. Just a glimpse of exposure grabs the eye and always looks sexy. If you prefer more of a ladylike finish, choose a flounce sleeve (created by a separate piece of fabric attached to the sleeve to give the material more fluidity). Whatever style takes your preference, make sure it’s loud, fun and has a standout factor. Lastly, don’t forget to pare down the rest of your look to balance your silhouette.
