FOOTBALL ADAM SHIFFMAN was once again among the goals as Haroldeans continued their march towards the MJSL title.

Shiffman joined Max Green and Max Barnett in bagging doubles as the Merseysiders took another step towards being crowned champions.

Shaun Cooper and Daniel LloydEllenberg were also on target as Prestfield were put to the sword 8-2.

But Haroldeans boss Mike Bloomberg says the race for the championship is far from over.

He said: “We are ticking each game off as it comes. But nobody is getting carried away as we are not over the line yet.

“All we can do is put in professional performances and win the games.

“We know teams will be desperate to beat us and knock us off our perch.”

grabbed a consolation Ben Mandell’s brace and boss Zac Marks said: “We have competed in most games in our first season. I think, considering we are a new team, we should feel proud of our efforts.”

Louie Hewson was Leeds Maccabi’s two-goal hero at Maccabi Manchester Blue.

Hewson and Raphael Kaye proved the difference as Jonathan Rose’s team were edged out by the Yorkshiremen 3-2.

Leeds boss Adam Kristall said: “There’s a lot to play for. We want to finish as high up the table as possible and perform well in cup competitions. We don’t want to finish the season emptyhanded.”

Darren Cohen and Mark Mann replied for Maccabi.

Boss Cohen said: “So many of our games could have gone either way this season. We want to finish in the top four in the league and win a trophy. That is still very much on.”
