The season’s looking pretty delicious

Picture this: platefuls of visually stunning, fresh food and exciting new places to enjoy them

THE CLOCKS go forward this weekend and we will have that first delicious early evening daylight.

Food-wise there is so much to look forward to. After long months of root veg, cabbage, apples and pears, new local ingredients are finally appearing. Asparagus, spinach, Jersey Royal new potatoes, spring onions, purple sprouting broccoli and watercress are all coming into season.

Passover is imminent. Time to clean out that chametz. In case you are fretting, Louisa Walters and Kate Posener provide their top 10 places to get your pre-Passover carb fix.

We also have ideas for places to spoil your mummy on Mother’s Day this Sunday.

KOSHER STAR IS BORN

Delicatessen — the new kosher eating place in Fairfax Road, north west London — is poised to open. The team behind it (Or Golan and S Group) brought us kosher restaurants Soyo and Head Room. Chef Golan has been planning this south Hampstead restaurant for more than a year and it has been worth the wait. The interior is beautifully designed, with a Moorish feel. There are hand-painted wall tiles
