New attack on conference

The Jewish Chronicle - - NEWS - BY LEE HARPIN

THE DECISION to allow a conference challenging Israel’s right to exist to take place at Cork City Hall in Ireland has been labelled “shameful” by one of the city’s leading political figures.

The event, which begins today, will see Richard Falk, who has labelled Israel an “apartheid state” and once posted an antisemitic cartoon on social media, deliver a “keynote” speech.

Fianna Fail councillor Kenneth O’Flynn said he was “deeply troubled” by the event.

He said: “If a three-day conference was held in Tel Aviv questioning Ireland’s right to exist, we would rightly be outraged. It is shameful that City Hall would give this conference a space.”
