Inclusive notes from Kisharon
SPECIAL EDUCATION charity Kisharon has a practical centrepiece to its festival appeal — a 16-page basic explanation of the Pesach story to accompany the traditional Haggadah.
Including colourful illustrations from Kisharon clients, it is geared to enable those with learning difficulties to play a full part in the Seder service.
The publication is available from the charity’s social enterprise gift store, Equal, in Temple Fortune. Those who take copies are asked to make a donation, which will benefit Kisharon’s educational, employment and supported living services.
“We want to empower all those around the Seder table to ask their own questions,” said Dr Beverley Jacobson, Kisharon’s chief executive. “This guide also gave many of the people we support the opportunity to engage with Pesach by sharing their creative visual interpretation.”
