Star Wars faithful’s joint force
IT’S International Star Wars Day on Thursday, lest you forget, and what better way to mark it than to join the campaign of two clerical fans to have the first of the sci-fi series declared Britain’s national film?
Rabbi Natan Levy, the Board of Deputies’ former interfaith officer, and Dr Muhammad Al-Hussaini, launched their petition outside Parliament, as a lighthearted gesture of interfaith solidarity.
They attracted plenty of attention from passersby, said Rabbi Levy. “After all, how often do you see a sheikh wearing a keffiyeh and a Darth Vader t-shirt arm-in-arm with a rabbi?”
