Prize moment for stand-up Rachel
APPLAUSE please for Rachel Creeger, who has just scooped Best Comedy Award at this year’s Greater Manchester Fringe Festival for her show It’s No Job for a Nice Jewish Girl.
“As a modern Orthodox woman, to receive recognition as a stand-up comedian from both inside and outside the community means a great deal,” she said.
“This show is unashamedly Jewish but explores subjects that everyone can identify with.”
She’s off now to the Edinburgh Fringe, where she’ll be doing 20 shows, “but not on Shabbat, obviously”.
