Fair­lop raid Red­bridge for star per­former Cole

MGBSFL NEW boys Fair­lop have pulled off a ma­jor coup af­ter Player of the Year Ryan Cole agreed to join them from Red­bridge Jewish Care A.

Left-back Cole was voted the stand­out per­former in a sea­son where RJC A fin­ished run­ners-up in both the Pre­mier Divi­sion and Cyril Anek­stein Cup com­pe­ti­tions.

Cole said: “I’m look­ing for­ward to the next chap­ter of my ca­reer.”

Fair­lop boss Aaron Dias has shown great am­bi­tion, also bring­ing RJC stars Daryl Ru­bin, Matt Berkley, Kane Hopps, Brad Gayer, Adam Gold­man and Daniel Bean to the club from their lo­cal ri­vals.

Dias is de­lighted with his sum­mer deal­ings so far and commented: “We have got a great squad. The boys can’t wait for the sea­son to start.

“Pre-sea­son has gone well and every­one is look­ing sharp.

“We aren’t just here for pro­mo­tion, we want to be fight­ing for the ti­tle.”

Mean­while, Tem­ple For­tune A beat Cat­ford & Brom­ley Mac­cabi 2-1 in their first pre-sea­son friendly. Jor­dan Shar­i­fian, last sea­son’s top-scorer who fin­ished se­cond in the race for the MGBSFL Golden Boot, scored both their goals.

The MGBSFL will fea­ture 29 teams for sea­son 2017/18 and gets un­der way on Septem­ber 3.
