New guide to beating campus hate

The Jewish Chronicle - - NEWS - BY DANIEL SUGARMAN

JEWISH STUDENTS heading back to university will do so with a new resource to help them combat antiIsrael activity.

UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) and StandWithUs UK have released Know

a guide which provides different scenarios of potential antiZionist activism and the legal options available in response.

The scenarios include the blocking of a meeting with an Israeli speaker and a boycott motion being considered by a student union.

The booklet also provides examples of actual situations in which pro-Israel students managed to successfully counter such cases, with the help of UKLFI.

Tamir Oren, director of public affairs of StandWithUs UK, said that students had “already expressed their appreciation” at the information provided in the publication.

“Students today face many challenges on campus that they don’t necessarily know how to tackle.

“This guide assists these students in identifying the issues and the context in which they happen and decide on the right way of action, whether it is a legal action, a petition or an activity on their campuses.”
