Israel-Myanmar arms verdict expected

The Jewish Chronicle - - WORLD NEWS -

A VERDICT was expected this week from Israel’s High Court on a petition by human rights activists against the country’s ongoing sale of arms to Myanmar.

Despite reports of ongoing persecution by the East Asian nation’s military junta of the country’s Rohingya minority, the Israeli government has refused to confirm that it will stop selling weapons to the Myanmarese.

Myanmar’s army has been accused of extrajudicial killings, infanticide, gang rapes and arson carried out against the Rohingya. Thousands have fled to neighbouring countries.
