Kol Nidre ballet
THE strains of Max Bruch’s Kol Nidre will echo around the London Palladium on the last night of September when it forms the musical setting for a new ballet.
The premiere of Neshamot (“Souls”) will feature in a variety show which marks the 10th anniversary of the breast cancer charity Future Dreams.
Performed by dancers from the Birmingham Royal Ballet, it was commissioned from leading young choreographer Ruth Brill (right) by the ballet’s creative producer
Jim Fletcher, vice-chairman of external affairs at West London Synagogue.
“The music is perfect because there are moments of struggle, but we can hear hope throughout,”
Ms Brill said.
