Electric Dreams The Hood Maker Sunday Channel pm

He’s the visionary writer who gave the world Blade Runner, Total Recall and Minority Report. So you’d expect a series based on Philip K Dick’s short stories to be a tour de force of the imagination – and the feverishly unpredictable science-fiction tales of Electric Dreams do not disappoint. The show is a labour of love for its producer, Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, who has drawn together a phenomenal array of talent. Upcoming episodes feature Oscar-winner Anna Paquin as a policewoman of the future and Timothy Spall playing a railway guard whose commuter train goes each day to a non-existent town. Cranston himself appears in the story of a cruelly unloving husband who’s miraculously transformed overnight, while next week Jack Reynor stars as an interplanetary tour guide in search of Earth. But first, fresh from her triumphant role in BBC1 hit series Strike, Holliday Grainger is a telepath in a world teetering on the brink of war between mutants and ordinary humans. Look into the future and you’ll know exactly where to be for the next few Sunday nights.
