Thanks to the love and adoration the Queen has won from her subjects throughout her record-breaking reign, there can be no doubt about the place Her Majesty has secured in the history books. And the Queen has plans for another legacy, one that will last for centuries, which she reveals to Sir David Attenborough during a walk through the grounds of Buckingham Palace (right). Inspired by her love of trees, she hopes to see a network of protected forests across the planet – The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy.

One day it is hoped the plan will be up and running in all 53 Commonwealth states: already 35 countries have signed up. Her Majesty has enlisted some extremely persuasive ambassadors for her scheme, and we see Prince William in Canada and Prince Harry in the Caribbean spreading the tree-loving gospel, while Angelina Jolie adds her ineffable touch of Hollywood glamour in an ambitious plan to bring the Namibian desert to life.
