Channel 4, 10pm
Lovers of things that go bump in the night will avidly devour this new series which tells stories of true-life horror through a mixture of interviews and drama-reconstruction.
This week we begin with the tale of what has been dubbed the ‘Amityville of Wales’. Artist Bill Rich (Adam Leese, right) and his partner Liz seemed to have found the idyllic home in which to bring up their young children – a farmhouse set amid the breathtaking beauty of the Welsh countryside, with an enchanting garden from which pigs would happily wander into their kitchen. But the bucolic dream soon began to darken, with an increasing number of unexplained events and extraordinary visions that were witnessed by all members of the family.
While the breathlessly credulous style may leave some viewers despairing of the absence of a sceptical point of view, others will relish this reminder that there may be far more to this world than rational science can account for.
