Supermodel Miranda’s guard stabbed in fight with intruder
SUPERMODEL Miranda Kerr’s security guard was recovering in hospital last night after being stabbed in the face by an intruder at her luxury home in California.
The man was shot in the head by the guard during the incident, and they were both airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Miss Kerr, 33, former wife of Pirates Of The Caribbean heart-throb Orlando Bloom, was not at home at the time.
The intruder reportedly scaled a fence at the £10million ranch in the exclusive Malibu area near Los Angeles on Friday morning before being confronted by the guard, who fired at him several times.
Builders working nearby climbed the fence to help tackle the attacker.
A neighbour, who gave his name only as Jerry, said: ‘After he was shot, the man still held the knife and was going after the security man.’ Another neighbour added: ‘It’s kind of a crazy thing to happen out here in Malibu. I guess it happens everywhere but we’re not used to it here.
Last night the intruder was said to be in a critical condition. The guard was described as being in a stable condition.
Victoria’s Secret model Miss Kerr, who is now engaged to Snapchat founder and chief executive Evan Spiegel, 26, bought the sprawling Malibu ranch following her divorce from Bloom in 2013.
She lives there with her fiveyear-old son Flynn.
