The MoS seat-o-meter

-

ANY Conservative complacency that a landslide victory is in the bag is dispelled by the MoS’s seat-o-meter this week. Although Tory support in the polls has held steady, Labour is up three percentage points on last week and no less than six points above where it was when the Election was called. But Labour’s advance has done little more than cancel out the gains the Tories have made at Ukip’s expense. Mrs May is still looking at a majority of 94, more if evidence of Tory advances in Labour heartlands proves correct. The Lib Dems’ average rating has slipped for the second week in a row, on course for a lamentable eight seats, the same as in 2015. Analysis by John Curtice, Professor of Politics, Strathclyde University.
