TOURISTS PACK A PUNCH

-

NO surprise that both Lions’ tries came from the pack, who were outstanding. The Maoris’ pack simply could not match the Lions for the first try — a penalty try — after 51 minutes and were swamped again moments later. This time their front eight stopped the Lions’ advance but a neat dummy run from scrum-half Conor Murray, which shifted two opponents out of position (right), enabled No 8 Taulupe Faletau to pick up from the base and drive to the line. He was held up but the cavalry arrived in numbers and lock Maro Itoje picked up and dived over.
