Julianne Moore: I can’t bear the thought of ‘President Clooney’

The Mail on Sunday - - Comment -

SHE counts George Clooney as a close friend and stars in his new film, but Julianne Moore has some brutally honest advice for the Hollywood A-lister: Stay away from politics.

There has been speculation that Clooney will one day run for the White House. But Julianne, right, who stars in Clooney’s Suburbicon, tells The Mail on Sunday’s You magazine: ‘I can’t bear it, this idea of relating leaders with entertainment figures. What you want is a president who is experienced in government. I don’t even want to joke about movie stars being president of the US.’

While Julianne, 56, is against any political ambitions Clooney might have, she is full of admiration for his role as a husband and father of twins.

Referring to his marriage to human-rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, she says: ‘You can see the difference in his personality, how settled he seems… he adores Amal.’
