Not even Wolfie was a Terror at heart

The Non-League Football Paper - - NEWS -

AS a staunch Dulwich Hamlet fan it was interesting to see the Groundhopper’s view of a visit to our arch-rivals Tooting & Mitcham United, in The NLP last week (December 11).

In his report of the visit of Faversham , he mentioned the slogans of the fans including ‘Power to the People’ and ‘Freedom for Tooting’, which were of course used by Wolfie in the classic late-70s sitcom Citizen Smith, leader of the Tooting Popular Front, played by actor Robert Lindsay.

It’s worth noting, however, that whilst Wolfie’s catchphrases have been appropriated by modernday Terrors followers from the terraces, in the actual series even Wolfie couldn’t bring himself to support his local side from Ryman League Division One South – and was in fact cast as a Fulham fan!
