BOSH NETS IN THE NICK OF TIME
BRADFORD Park Avenue boosted their survival hopes with a dramatic victory at fellow strugglers Worcester City.
Nick Boshell was the hero for third-from-bottom Avenue, firing home the winner in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
The result was a hammer blow for 17th-placed City, who sit two points above the drop zone and had chances to come out on top in a turgid affair.
Lee Hughes sent an early chance wide for the hosts before Ebby Nelson-Addy failed to turn home Cieron Keane’s cross on 15 minutes.
The visitors did all the pressing in the opening period but Ethan Ross went largely untroubled as Shane Killock twice headed wide from corners.
Avenue stopper Jon Worsnop also had little to do, but produced a stunning save on 66 minutes when he tipped Hughes’ close-range header onto the post.
As the match drew to a close, Worcester were digging in and appeared to be doing enough to hang on for a point as Keane stopped the ball on the line after a goalmouth scrabble.
But with almost the last kick of the game, Boshell hit the back of the net from 15 yards after Ross’ poor punch to seal the win. STAR MAN: Wayne Brooksby (Bradford Park Avenue) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
