TAMWORTH got their play-offs push back on track with victory over Curzon Ashton.

The Lambs suffered back-to-back defeats to Nuneaton over the festive period but firsthalf goals from Greg Mills and Joe Clarke laid the foundation for this triumph.

Ryan Hall pulled a goal back for the Nash after the break but Ross Dyer restored the two-goal lead. And although Niall Cummins set up an edgy finish, the Lambs held on for three points.

The hosts went in front from the penalty spot on 14 minutes as Mills coolly converted after being tripped by James Baillie.

Connor Hampson struck a fierce drive wide from 18 yards for the visitors while Cameron Mason saved Clarke’s header at the other end.

The Lambs then doubled their lead on 43 minutes as Clarke headed home from a Mills corner.

Curzon enjoyed a good spell of pressure after half-time without creating any openings.

They were rewarded on 75 minutes as Ryan Hall hit a sweet effort past James Belshaw, but Dyer powered in a header shortly after.

Jamie Stott was denied by a good save late on before Cummins hit a consolation. STAR MAN: Louis Briscoe (Tamworth) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
