RAMPANT Leiston hit Burgess Hill for six to maintain their promotion challenge and push the Hillians closer to the drop zone, striker Matt Blake helping himself to four.
Neither side tested either keeper in the first 20 minutes. But it was a false dawn for the hosts.
Leiston took the lead on 22 minutes when Gareth Heath played in Niko Muir who slotted the ball past Hillians keeper Josh James.
Leiston doubled their lead two minutes later when the ball fell to Blake who turned well and fired his shot into the back of the net.
Leiston the had a goal was disallowed, while the Hillians had chances of their own,
Jonah Ayunga fired a shot wide and Jack Brivio’s header well saved by Leiston keeper Jacob Marsden.
Leiston put the game out of sight on 39 minutes when Seb Dunbar’s cross from the left was tapped home by Blake.
Blake completed his hat-trick just before halftime, finding the empty net when Toby Pointing collided with James.
Leiston began the second half as they finished the first with Blake getting his fourth of the game with a cool finish on 47 minutes.
Gareth Heath rounded off the scoring, flicking the ball over a defender and volleying home on 70 minutes.
