THESE two sides are moving in different directions, but Chesham made hard work of overcoming Dunstable.

Chesham had early chances but both Adam Martin and Barry Hayles had efforts blocked on the line.

Chesham scored the only goal of the game in the eighth minute, when Hayles and Brad Wadkins combined to set up Ryan Blake to score.

Chesham had chances to wrap the game up in the first half-hour, but Wadkins’ shot on the turn was blocked by Gedeon Okita, and from the resulting corner both Adam Martin and Hayles headed against the bar.

Dunstable’s best effort of the half came from a long-range effort from Kelvin Bossman that was well saved by Ashlee Jones. Towards half-time Blake’s shot produced a diving save from Dunstable keeper Jamie Head.

Early in the second half Dave Pearce should have scored Chesham’s second but could only hit the post.

But Chesham’s play became scrappy and the visitors dominated but without creating a single chance of note. With more firepower up front Dunstable could have got something out of the game in the end.
