COMAS THWARTS FROME
FROME TOWN 0 KINGS LANGLEY 0
QUITE how this match remained goalless will always be a mystery as Frome struck the woodwork three times, both goalkeepers produced notable saves and with the visitors’ goal in particular seeming to have a charmed life.
After a scrappy opening half hour, Frome started to look the more dangerous and goalbound shots from Sam Teale and Jon Davies were twice deflected wide.
And, after Kyle Phillips had made a good save to deny Immanuelson Duku, Davies thundered a left-foot shot against the visitors’ crossbar before Jake Jackson hit the Kings Langley post twice in the space of a minute.
After a slow start, Frome started to pile increasing amounts of pressure on the Kings Langley defence, but their goalkeeper Xavi Comas was in inspired form, and after making several good saves, luck also smiled on him several times as loose balls came straight back into his arms.
However, Kings Langley could also have won this game going close on several occasions.
And, with the last kick of the match, a goalbound shot was deflected over the Frome bar by a defender to prevent a late twist in the tale.
