HEREFORD had to come from a goal down to beat Paulton Rovers to maintain their grip on top spot of the league table.

Paulton made a great start after four minutes when Jordan Ricketts wriggled free and slid the ball home.

Rovers stopper Keiran Hodges then made a superb save from a Mike Symons shot after the ball was chested into his path by John Mills.

Symons levelled on 15 minutes after a run by Australian right back Jimmy Oats found Tristan Plummer.

Oats’ low cross was turned home by the Hereford striker.

Four minutes later the Bulls went ahead after Mike McGrath’s right wing corner was headed home by Clayton Fortune.

Hodges then saved from Mills and was out quickly again soon afterwards to blunt the same player.

Hereford made it 3-1 on 72 minutes as Jamie Molyneux and Mills combined to set up Plummer to fire home.

In the final minutes Rovers centre back Joe Chandler hit a sweet shot narrowly over the bar with Harris beaten.
