GRAYS ATH 1 ENFIELD T 3

- By David Seaman STAR MAN: Scott Shulton (Enfield Town) ENTERTAINMENT:

ENFIELD boosted their play-off chances with a comfortable win against basement boys Grays, a two-minute brace from Scott Shulton putting the game beyond the hosts.

Town enjoyed a good deal of first-half possession and it was no surprise when they went ahead in the 15th minute, Shulton evading weak challenges to fire home from the edge of the box past keeper Amadou Tangara.

Two minutes later Shulton again capitalised on poor defending to make it 2-0.

But Chidi Williams-Agunbar reduced the arrears for Grays in the 22nd minute, stabbing the ball home from a corner.

And the same player came close to a second moments later when his header came back off the bar.

The second half was a largely forgettable affair.

Grays tried to get back on level terms but their attack lacked bite with Enfield looking in control and looking likely to increase their advantage.

They did in the 80th minute when Harry Ottaway flicked the ball into the net from a corner which was poorly defended by the home side.

The defeat leaves Grays staring at the drop.
