HIGHEST LEAGUE FINISH FOR PARK

- By Nick Thatcher

SOUTH Park signed off with a third win on the spin and sealed an eighthplaced finish – the highest in their history.

After the two teams went at it, the deadlock was broken just a minute before the half-time break, with Joe Jackson brilliantly heading in from a Joe Lavery cross.

As the contest rumbled on, Luke Elliott hit the crossbar from a Dean Lovegrove delivery and Dylan Merchant, who usually plays out on pitch as a defender, made two excellent point-blank saves to keep Sittingbourne at bay.

Then, with three minutes of normal time remaining, Lavery eased any nerves by heading home the Sparks’ second of the afternoon from a Lovegrove cross.
