SHOTS TO THE TOP!
Waddock’s wonders too hot for Heed
FABIEN ROBERT fired Aldershot Town back to the summit of the National League with a late winner at Gateshead.
The Shots are back on top thanks to the attacker’s 83rdminute strike on an
action-packed day in Non-League’s top flight.
Dover Athletic are second on goal difference after thrashing Chester 4-0, while Dagenham & Redbridge complete the top three following a 3-1 victory at home to FC Halifax Town. And Hartlepool Town’s revival continued with a 2-1 win at Leyton Orient – Rhys Oates’ goal condemning the O’s to a third defeat on the bounce.
Meanwhile, the Step 2 clubs entered the FA Cup but National League North duo Darlington and Blyth Spartans were dumped out by South Shields and Shaw Lane respectively, while Boston were held by Step 5 Haughmond, and Handsworth Parramore drew with FC United.
