Hilly goes by the book with Blues

The Non-League Football Paper - - NEWS -

We’ve let Steve Hill loose on you again this week (see page 47), our intrepid Chester fan who last season documented his trails and tribulations following the Blues home and away every game of the season. From August to May, Steve attended over 50 games, travelling north of 15,000 miles and coughing up god knows how much money, all for the cause of watching his football team lose a lot more than they won.

I exchanged texts with Steve yesterday morning, and he informed me – not that I needed informing – that he was heading down to Crabble. His exact words: “En route to Dover… we never get anything there...” And he was right!

He’s currently in the process of finishing a book – The Card – that details his efforts to join the football fan’s Holy Grail of watching every game, home and away, in a season. I’m getting nothing from this plug (I probably won’t even get a free book), but I have your interests at heart. Published by Ockley Books and released in time for Christmas, it will make a nice little stocking filler, unless you’re a Wrexham fan, of course.
