GLOUCESTER CITY 0 HUNGERFORD TOWN 3
HUNGERFORD TOWN joint-bosses Jon Boardman and Ian Herring celebrated being officially handed the reins by sweeping past Gloucester City.
The pair have been confirmed, with Gary MacDonald their assistant, as Bobby Wilkinson’s replacements following a successful caretaker spell.
The Tigers were made to pay for some poor defending by lively Nicholas Bignall, as he got in behind defence before rounding keeper Tom Hadler and applying a smart finish.
Sam Avery was then was sent for an early bath by the referee after fouling Stefan Brown in the box, although it appeared the Hungerford man had tripped on the ball.
The striker stepped up, and sent Hadler the wrong way from the spot just before half-time.
It was game over for the Tigers on 69 minutes when a clearance was sliced and dropped straight to the feet of Brown who slotted home for his second of the afternoon.
Hadler was the only man standing in the way of the scoreline becoming embarrassing for City, as he pulled off a string of good saves towards the end of the game.
