The Non-League Football Paper - - FA CUP SECOND ROUND QUALIFYING - By Shaun Green

ELLIOT Bradbrook’s hattrick ensured Dartford weren’t the victims of an FA Cup shock as they overcame Bostik North Barking.

Indeed, it looked like an upset was on the cards in the first ten minutes, with the visitors taking the lead as a low driven corner was turned in by a Dartford player.

The lower-ranked side kept up the pressure, with Kwasi Marfo putting in a great delivery which flashed across the box, but nobody was there to meet it.

Dartford eventually gained a foothold in the game and Andy Pugh was brought down by Barking keeper Oliver Bowles, with captain Bradbrook scoring from the spot to level things up on 25 minutes.

Dartford looked in control from then on and Ryan Hayes nearly put the National League South side into the lead with his cross-cum-shot almost creeping under the bar at the far post.

Less than five minutes later the Darts had a lead they wouldn’t relinquish as Bradbrook grabbed his second, smashing in from Hayes’ corner.

The game was finally safe with 25 minutes left to play as Bradbrook wrapped up his hat-trick with another penalty after Hayes was brought down.
