STAFFORD RANGERS 1 TAMWORTH 0
IZAK Reid’s second-half header earned Stafford Rangers a shock FA Cup win over Tamworth.
Rangers, reaching the third qualifying round for the first time in ten years, had the better of a drab first half, Dan Westwood firing wide.
The Lambs upped the tempo after the break and Darryl Knight’s free-kick landed on the roof of the net while Callum Powell’s strike clipped the bar, the best of their chances.
Jack Langston’s low drive was saved by Tamworth keeper Dan Jezeph before Stafford went in front on 63 minutes as Reid headed in Osebi Abadaki’s cross.
Powell was denied by Adam Whitehouse, as Tamworth’s cause became more urgent and they were unable to find an equaliser.
