MARGATE SET FOR JOLLY OUTING...

The Non-League Football Paper - - FA CUP SECOND ROUND QUALIFYING - By Roy Mitchard

A CLOSELY contested cup tie was settled by a goal on the hour by Orlando Smith.

Smith recovered from a 44th minute headfirst dive over the advertising hoardings to volley the ball home from a David Martin cross.

Both defences had looked compact, but Smith had a 13th minute opportunity to put Margate ahead when he beat the offside trap to slip

the ball past Ross Hampton, but hit the post.

Kings created good chances before the interval, but Lennie Pidgeley pulled off a superb save from a Mitchell Weiss thunderbolt and a rasping goal-bound Callum Adebiyi shot was deflected just past the post.

Kings continued to battle hard, but their cause was doomed when Emmanuel Folarin received his second yellow ten minutes from the end as Langley went out.
