The Non-League Football Paper - - NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH - AFC TELFORD UTD 2 BOSTON UTD 1 By Richard Scott

ANTHONY DWYER’S stunning strike, worthy of winning any game of football, was enough to seal all three points for AFC Telford United at the New Bucks Head.

After a sluggish start, the game burst into life on the 30-minute mark when a Ryan Wilson corner found Bucks captain Shane Sutton who scored his first goal for the club by firing between the legs of Boston stopper George Willis.

But Sutton scored at the other end just ten minutes later, when he sent a deft header into the corner of his own net – with what would have been a great goal at the right end.

The game’s main talking point came bang on half-time when the ball fell to Dwyer.

From 35 yards out, Dwyer spotted Pilgrims goalkeeper Willis off his line and proceeded to smash the ball over his head.

Had that goal been in the Premier League, it would be shown on Match of the Day time and time again.

Dwyer’s strike turned out to be the winner, but it wasn’t for lack of trying from Telford who hit the bar through Sutton before John Marsden forced Willis into a fine save.

Marsden deserved to be on the scoresheet for his all-round performance, but it wasn’t to be as the Bucks saw it out.

STAR MAN: Anthony Dwyer (AFC Telford United) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
