ENFIELD took advantage of the best possible start to edge out Margate.

They took the lead in the first minute, Mickey Parcell emphatically converting Aaron Greene’s deep cross.

Parcell and the lively Montell Moore both tested Gate keeper Patrick Lee.

Sam Youngs had the ball in the Margate net after 34 minutes, but he was offside from Moore's pass.

The visitors’ Frannie Collin and Lee Prescott had chances before Town's Simon Thomas was inches from a low Greene cross.

And another Greene effort was somehow deflected behind by Ben Swift.

Gate equalised after 51 minutes when David Martin’s shot was deflected past Town keeper Joe Wright by Darren Purse.

Town deservedly retook the lead after 63 minutes when Youngs’ free-kick was joyously headed home by Taylor McKenzie.

Lee had to come off his line to thwart Thomas, who was through on goal.

But the final glaring miss of the game came at the death when Gate's unmarked Harry Stannard headed Martin's cross wide.
