STAGS HOLD OUT FOR HANDY WIN

- By Sean McGlead

AFC TOTTON returned to winning ways with a hardfought victory over high flying Didcot Town at The Total Branding Community Stadium.

The Stags looked hungry from the off and they thoroughly deserved a tenth minute lead given to them with a well taken 25-yard free kick from Tony Lee.

Lee then turned creator for

Totton’s secnd goal, setting up Alfy Whittingham after some great work on the right-hand side of the box.

The Stags then had claims for a penalty waved away when Craig Feeney looked to have been fouled by Didcot’s captain Adam Learoyd.

After the break Didcot came out fired up and they reduced the arrears with a goal from Felipe Marcelos after 49 minutes.

But a second goal, and equaliser, was not to come.
