WHYTELEAFE were punished for not taking their chances and in the end were happy to grab a point with a late equaliser.

In a game of even chances, Josh Adusei and Sam Clayton had good shots saved in the opening 20 minutes.

It was the visitors who broke the deadlock in the 67th minute. Luca Wrightman brought down Harry Stannard in the box, and Oliver Lee’s well struck spot-kick gave debutant keeper Kyle Merson no chance.

Leafe fought hard for an equaliser, and it finally came in the 90th minute when Clayton floated a free-kick from wide on the right into the box, and Lanre Azeez timed his run perfectly to head into the back of the net.
