The Non-League Football Paper - - FA CUP SECOND ROUND REVIEW -

JACK MIDSON has fired Leatherhead to the second round of the FA Cup for the first time in 39 years – now he’s challenging Sergio Aguero to a race for the golden boot!

The 34-year-old player/ assistant manager is currently topping the scoring charts with 11 goals ahead of this afternoon’s showdown at League One Wycombe Wanderers.

But he is hoping to add at least one more goal to fend off the challenge of Manchester City goal machine Aguero, who won the race last season with eight goals to his name.

Midson netted twice as the Tanners stunned bigspending Billericay Town in the last round and is already dreaming of a day out to the final at Wembley.

“I’m not sure where they take it from, but if it starts from round one then I’m sure they are going to overtake me – especially Aguero,” Midson said.

“But if it starts from the preliminary round and I was to go on and win it and get invited to the final, then that would be amazing.

“But I’ll just be happy with one on Sunday, if that is the winner then it will be even better.”
