The Non-League Football Paper - - BOSTIK NORTH & SOUTH - By Tony Middleton

IN A MATCH riddled with defensive errors, Hornchurch took an early lead after Sam Robbins put through his own goal as he tried to clear from Theo Fairweather-Johnson. It was a topsy-turvey game with goals coming thick and fast and so it was no surprise the scoreboard continued to tick over at great pace. The lead did not last long as Chris Assombalonga, unmarked in the penalty area, scored with a well-placed header. Fairweather-Johnson then restored the lead when he ran onto a long clearance from Sam Mott. But two minutes later Billy Holland headed an equaliser from a well-placed corner. On the stroke of half-time, Hugo Rossetti saved from Brad Warner, only for Matt Fanimo to follow up and score. Nathan Koranteng scored a spectacular equaliser and Jack Daveney put Abbey ahead with a well-struck shot from the edge of the area. George Purcell, on the field for less than 60 seconds, won a free-kick and Nathan Livings scored from the edge of the penalty area, and as the match entered stoppage time, Purcell cut in from the right to score the winning goal with a spectacular shot from a narrow angle. It was harsh on the visitors who contributed to a hugely entertaining game that sparkled throughout from the first to the last minute. STAR MAN: Matt Sanimo (H’church) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
