MET POLICE stole victory at Tooting with a double strike in the last 13 minutes.

The struggling Terrors had enough chances to have won the game but took none of them.

Their first opening came on four minutes, Juevan Spencer firing over from six yards after a wellworked move.

They were denied an opener after 14 minutes when Mike Dixon chased a long ball and netted but was adjudged to have fouled a defender in the build-up.

Moments later Dixon was through on goal again but lobbed over.

On the half hour, Met Police went close with a Gavin James header at the far post.

But it was a rare break. And in first half stoppage time Met keeper Mattie Pearson made a brilliant save to tip over a Gavin Jones header.

After the break Tooting created more chances with Dixon, Spencer and Danny Bassett all going close.

However, the Met took the lead in the 77th minute when a Tom Bird free-kick was headed home by Jonny Wright.

And a minute from time, debutant Alec Fiddes added a second for the visitors to all but wrap up victory.

There was still time for Chase O’Neill to shoot over for Tooting when well-placed in stoppagetime. STAR MAN: Jonny Wright (Met Police) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
