BRACKLEY TOWN 0 BARROW 0

The Non-League Football Paper - - FA TROPHY SECOND ROUND PROPER - By Tim Carroll

THE sides will meet again at Holker Street on Tuesday evening after a goalless first attempt.

It was a game of few chances but was nevertheless an absorbing encounter pitting National League North Brackley’s unbeaten home record against National League Barrow’s away form.

Brackley enjoyed the better of things, especially in a first half when their running and passing pegged Barrow back.

Twice Andy Brown went close. His first effort was wide of the mark after fine work by Glenn Walker and later another close range header was kept out by keeper Joel Dixon. In between, Walker saw his shot deflected just over.

Barrow’s chief threat were the occasional long balls launched into the penalty area but rarely was the Brackley defence troubled. Moussa Diarra’s shot on 57 minutes was the visitors’ only real chance.

Jimmy Armson curled his shot narrowly the wrong side of the post on the hour as the Bluebirds defended resolutely. STAR MAN: Alex Gudger (Brackley) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
