The Non-League Football Paper - - FA TROPHY SECOND ROUND PROPER - By Jake Ellacott

A DRAMATIC 93rd minute strike from Joe Leesley earned Harrogate Town a replay.

Harrogate’s Jordan Thewliss should have opened the scoring with 19 minutes on the clock when he met a Leesley cross unmarked in the six-yard area. However, the forward could only plant his header wide of Dean Snedker’s near post.

St Albans midfielder Kieran Monlouis was denied by a James Belshaw save with half an hour gone, and it proved to be the only save of the game for the Harrogate stopper as he was forced off prior to the interval with an ankle injury.

The deadlock was broken in the 66th minute when St Albans defender Tom Bender leaped highest to meet a David Noble corner and planted a header into the bottom corner past a diving Joe Cracknell.

With five minutes to go Noble almost doubled City’s lead when he hit a ferocious half-volley from the edge of the area, however Joe Cracknell was able to gather.

However, as the game entered the final minute of added time the visitors scored with their solitary attempt on target.

A long ball forward from Dominic Fallowfield was knocked down by Dominic Knowles into the path of Leesley, who without hesitation struck a side-footed effort past Snedker and into the far corner. STAR MAN: Tom Bender (St Albans) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
