Magical Moors are looking promising

SPENNYMOOR TOWN 3 NUNEATON BOROUGH 1

- By Adam Brown

SPENNYMOOR TOWN exhibited their promotion credentials with a confident victory overNuneaton Borough.

Just two minutes in, Moors were given the chance to take the lead from the spot when Glen Taylor drove into the lefthand channel. Jon Onyeaka nudged him over and Taylor dispatched the penalty himself.

Only a minute later, Nuneaton were given the perfect chance to equalise. A barge from Andrew Johnson was enough to send Curtis Obeng tumbling in the box. Dior Angus stepped up and made no mistake, restoring parity.

Robert Ramshaw put Moors back in front in first-half stoppage time when Jonathan nyeaka and Lee Burns handed him possession. The midfielder pounced on the ball to go oneon-one and slip underneath Cameron Belford.

Matt Gould had to be on guard in the 50th minute after Angus sped in behind the defence and tried to chip it over the onrushing keeper.

Moors went two ahead in the 57th minute, Johnson rounding off a lovely move down the left after being played in by the imperious Ramshaw.
