LAV SETS UP MAGIC COMEBACK BY WANDS

DORKING produced a stunning second-half comeback from three goals down to share the spoils of their first-ever meeting with AFC Hornchurch.

Wands made some good early progress but were unable to convert any of the chances.

And Lewis Spence opened the scoring for the visitors against the run of play on 17 minutes.

Hornchurch keeper Callum Chafer tipped over a 25-yard volley from Kieran Lavery.

And he kept the Wands at bay before Tobi Coker doubled the visitors’ lead on 24 minutes, after the ball was loose in the six-yard box.

Five minutes later Nathan Cooper made it three and the visitors looked very comfortabl­e with a three-goal lead at the interval.

Dorking embarked on the lengthy comeback trail on 49 minutes, Lavery scored his first goal for the club when he converted Jason Prior’s cross.

Lavery had two further chances moments later as the Wands dominated the proceeding­s.

Prior got the allimporta­nt second goal on 67 minutes to really put the pressure on Hornchurch.

Dorking sub JJ O’Sullivan immediatel­y hit the bar.

And with nine minutes left, Niall McManus ghosted into the box to slot home the equaliser.
