The Non-League Football Paper - - NPL PREMIER - By Steve Sharman

A SECOND-HALF collapse from Nantwich Town saw Matlock Town shatter the Dabbers' long unbeaten run, thanks to second-half goals from Craig King, Cleveland Taylor and Bradley Beatson.

Nantwich could have taken the lead after 13 minutes as Jamie Morgan went down in the area, but Sean Cooke stepped up and hit it straight at Ross Durrant, who palmed it away, before the Gladiators cleared the danger away.

Steve Jones put the Dabbers in front as Sean Cooke’s pass found Craig Lindfield on the left-hand side.

The winger put in a grounded, driven ball into the box and the former Northern Ireland international was able to tap it past Durrant.

The Dabbers didn’t really come out for the second half and King capitalised on poor marking at the back, sliding it past Spiess to put the visitors on level terms.

The Gladiators took the lead soon after as Taylor curled a superb effort into the top-left corner, while a third was added with ten to go, as King replicated his first goal, before Beatson made it 4-1.

STAR MAN: Craig Westcarr (Matlock) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
