New landing craft for west coast firm
INVESTMENT into the fishing industry on the west coast continues as a new landing craft arrived at Loch Kishorn.
The Keira May, which is almost 15 metres long, is capable of carrying 21 tonnes of deck cargo and was delivered to the Scottish Sea Farms site on the northwest Highland loch last week.
Jim Gallagher, managing director of Scottish Sea Farms, said: ‘ This latest vessel is part of a huge investment programme as we continue to develop new and existing sites to meet growing demand for our quality salmon, both here and abroad. This investment is part of our commitment to putting something back into the Scottish economy and supporting Scottish suppliers.’
