BARCALDINE-based Sustainable Project Partners Limited (SPP) was one of several companies accompanying the First Minister on a mission to Hong Kong. Nicola Sturgeon was visiting the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park last Thursday.

The mission, which was supported by Scottish Enterprise also saw the signing of an memorandum of understanding between the Barcaldine company and Hong Kong Polytechnic University to work in the recycling of waste biomass.

Dr Bob Irving, CEO of SPP, said: ‘I was excited by the prospects of collaborating with PolyU and the potential benefits to both Scotland and Hong Kong from the expected innovations in technology for converting waste to bio energy in a sustainable and environmentally sensitive manner.’
