Raining on their parade doesn’t deter Swedish youth orchestra
THE FOUL weather struck again in Oban and this time, it rained on the parade.
Vreta Kloster, a youth orchestra from Sweden, were playing in Oban as part of their Scottish tour.
But the players of the band were brassed off on Tuesday as the wind and rain took its toll. Even their protective ponchos couldn’t save them from the elements.
A young girl player found out the hard way as she tried to salvage her sheet music (see inset picture), from the downpour.
The orchestra of 30 people had only been in Oban for three hours but the weather didn’t dampen their spirits.
One plucky member said: ‘It’s OK, we’re from Sweden, - we’re used to this.’
